A SPECIAL INDUSTRY UPDATE FROM
The Window & Plate Glass Dealers Association of New York:

WELCOME MESSAGE

Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Window and Plate Glass Dealers Association Newsletter.  The construction industry is steadily gaining speed again, and 2010 promises to be a more positive year for the construction industry. With the aid of the Economic Project Labor Agreement (PLA), as well as new PLAs signed for Public Projects and New York City School Construction Authority work, we are developing innovative solutions to development and construction obstacles and building a better New York.

The historic Economic PLA that was first passed in October 2009 has been critical to revitalizing the building industry. The terms of the PLA have helped to create jobs for members of the Window and Plate Glass Dealers Association of New York and will continue to do so as support for this initiative grows.

In addition, the association just participated in the 13th Annual Winter Conference hosted by the Construction Industry Partnership and featuring Mark Breslin, leading speaker and author in the national construction industry.  The conference featured a candid dialogue between labor and management and was designed to identify methods to increase market share for union contractors and trades people throughout the region.  Please contact Jerry Haber for more information on the CIP Conference or to receive copies of Mark Breslin's presentation.

Finally, we are pleased to include features on members A-Val Architectural Metal Corp. and Champion Metal & Glass in this issue of our association newsletter.

Sincerely,

Jerry Haber
President
