WINDOW AND PLATE GLASS DEALERS AND GLAZIERS LOCAL REACH FIRST CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY AGREEMENT
Following is a summary of the agreement reached between the Association and Glaziers Local Union 1281 on a new 6 year agreement.
The union has agreed to defer the $3.45 raise originally scheduled for May 1st, 2010 and then for May 1st, 2011 for another year which will be spread over the remaining 5 years of the agreement.
The Association has agreed to an $8.80 increase to be spread over the 6 year term of the agreement with the amount spread in 6 month increments for years 2 thru 6.
YEAR MAY 1ST NOV. 1ST
1 $.65 0
2 $1.35 $.85
3 $1.50 $.85
4 $1.50 $.85
5 $1.50 $.85
6 $1.50 $.85
The gross increase over the previous contract of $8.80 is an 11.8% increase which is under 2% per year.
However, due to the deferment of the 2011 increase and a partial deferment in 2012 the net cost of the agreement to the employers is just over a half per cent per year.
All of the work rule changes agreed upon over the prior two years covering starting times, shift work, crew size and make-up time will be in effect for a minimum of an additional two years.
